Incredible Silvia Fiorentina evening shoes, circa 1970. These are black satin with silver metallic leather, dressy and designed for dancing or evening wear. Size 6.5. T-strap open-back design with a dainty buckle, and a striking 70s design on the foot. There is a similar style of Fiorentina pumps in the costume collection at The Met. These are an absolute treasure, very rare, made in Italy for Sakowitz department store in Houston. About a 3" heel. They are in very good vintage condition, a few scuffs to the silver leather, wear to the soles, heel caps could stand to be replaced. A wonderful find for a vintage collector or costumer, a perfect example of disco era style. Silvia Sappia Baldi, professionally known by the name Silvia Fiorentina, started the Fiorentina line in 1957. Fiorentina has remained true to her personal aesthetic rather than conforming to trends. This pair of evening pumps displays the high quality, refined detail, and effective use of contrasting materials in a simple, graphic motif that is characteristic of Fiorentina's oeuvre.
